WALTER LEE PADGETT-- "Mountain Home, ID.-- Walter Lee Padgett, 78, of Mountain Home, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 1984, at home. "Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Humpherys Funeral Home with Hale Glauner officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home (ID). "Mr. Padgett, a retired carpenter, was born Oct. 28, 1905, at Hagerman, a son of Marion A. and Susie May Congers Padgett. He attended schools in Glenns Ferry and graduated from high school in Oakley. Following high school he worked on the railroad and in silver mines at Mountain City, Nev. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps March 10, 1942, at Ft. MacArthur, Calif. He was stationed in Florida where he worked as a carpenter. He later was transferred to Williams Field, Ariz., where he met Marie Scannell. They were married Nov. 7, 1945, at Mountain Home. He was discharged from the Army Air Corps Sept. 17, 1945, at Ft. MacArthur. They returned to Mountain Home in May of 1946 where he worked at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in the carpentry shop until retiring in 1973. They moved to King Hill in 1973. When he became ill, they returned to Mountain Home. "Survivors include his wife of Mountain Home; two daughters, Dorothy Lamoureux of San Francisco and Marion Padgett of Boise; two sisters, Nola Hubbert of Mountain Home and Hollis McFall of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
