Jennie P. Padelford was b. at Elgin, IL, 5/3/1860; d. at Chicago, IL, 2/11/1917; m. at Kane Co., IL, 5/5/1881 Robert B. Kerr.

So if your family was definitely in Pennsylvnia in the 1750s, then I'd say these were two different individuals.

I'm not aware of any Padelford/Paddlefords in Pennsylvania that early. There was one family that was located in Morris Co., New Jersey, before the Revolution. Another emerged in Virginia (the part that became West Virginia in 1863) in the early 1800s.

I'm also not aware of any connection to the Cherry family, but of course, that doesn't mean that there wasn't one!
