Interesting information on the wars between the Indians and the settlers. it appears that this Pratt provoked a false war that costed many settlers their lives. His lies about he Indians wanting to attack and kill the colonists caused the settlers to build forts in the season in which they should have been planting and fishing for winter stores. They starved because they believed him. Fear rules the day and is more dangerous than the perceived threat. This Pratt was at the least a narcissist and at worst a psychopath. This is the trouble that just one evil mind can cause. It caused years of distrust and the Indians would no longer trade furs or help the settlers. It reminds me of how our current government controls the people with false fears.
