I have some real reservations regarding Sarah Little who married William Paddock.
Several folks have submitted to the LDS site that Sarah Little was: #1. Born about 1755 in Mercer Co, KY. #2. That she married William Paddock about 1769 in Mercer Co, KY.
Since there was NO Kentucky in 1755 or 1769 and there was NO Mercer County in 1755 or 1769, exactly where did they get that info from?
No one has documentation for this woman. I am inclinded to believe that she was a Native American. In the mid 1700s, very, very few white women were in the area that became Kentucky. Daniel Boone wasn't even there until 1769. The Paddock brothers were often out in the wild areas of the country. I also have a photograph of Sarah Little and William Paddock's granddaughter, Sarah Jane Moore (d/o Jacob Moore and Rebecca Paddock). She had the high checkbones that could very well belong to a Native American. (Yes, I do know that other nationalities had high checkbones.)
If anyone has any hard documentation regarding Sarah Little, please post it. Just because something is mentioned in someone's book does not make it a proven fact.
We need to pin this down, not keep accepting unproven rumors.
