I'd be interested to know who you were doing the research for. I know Maryanne Paddock Stanley was looking for Henry who was her grandfather William's brother but she lost track of them in Cincinnati. Also, if you didn’t know it, the Paddocks were Jewish and that's probably why Maryanne's grandmother was disinherited when she married William Paddock (died in 1930's probably in Boston - Henry's brother. She was his second wife and a Cozzens – daughter to the well known painter from Boston.
My mother is remembering things that were said when she was a child and her father left her a set of bookends of a Jewish scholar and told her they were her heritage but all of Henry's children - Clover, Helen and Jay French Paddock were brought up protestant I think. I've so far run into a stumbling block on the Paddock side - have a census that says Charles and Wm. were born in Vermont in 1820s but haven't been able to trace them to Vermont. Also no luck on the French side. I was wrong about Henry’s death date – it was 1937 in Detroit. Hope to get back to the LDS Family History Center and do some more work.
