Dear Elsie,
I don't happen to have your Martha Packer, but I really suspect that your Martha is related to either Lewis or Samuel Packer whom I suspect are related to my Moses and Aaron Packer.
Lewis Packer is from the Georgia county across the river from Barbour Co, Al. Samuel is another possibility and was first found in Monroe Co, Al in 1820.
I will see what I can do about finding where Lewis was listed in the Census, but until then have you checked the 1860 Monroe Co, Al census. Here are the page numbers if you haven't checked:
Packer, David090
Packer, James093
Packer, James094
Packer, Joseph092
Packer, Robert090
Packer, Robert091
Packer, Robert092
Packer, Samuel092
Parker, C.122
Also the 1860 Monroe Co, Alabama Census Index, page numbers.
Packer, David801
Packer, James805
Packer, Jane811
Packer, Joseph804
Packer, Robert801
Packer, Robert804
Packer, Sam803
Packer, Theodore805
