Jane Doe 12/05/11
Thomas Anderson married Robert Lucy's daughter Mary Lucy.
Prince George County, Wills & Deeds, 1713-1728, p. 32: Indenture (lease) made the second day of November, 17___, between Thomas Harrison and Ellinor, his wife, and Thomas House, 50 acres on Blackwater conveyed to the said Thomas Harrison and Ellinor, his wife, from Joshua Meecham by coveyance dated the 30th day of July 1686. Indenture acknowledged in court on November 9, 1714
[The 50 acres deeded by Harrison to Thomas House was part ofa tract of 292 acres patented by Joshua Meatcham 20 April 1682, PG Co., on the North side of the Blackwater, in the parish of Westover; adjoining the land of James Wallis. Patent Bk 7 p.122]
In 1719, Thomas House patented 120 acres on the north side of the Three Creeks adj George Hamilton's land.(Patent Bk 11, p.16)
A year before, on 12 July 1718, Richard Pace had also patented 280 acres on the north side of the Three Creeks adjoining George Hamilton's land. (Patent Bk 10, p.389)
In 1721, Thomas House, now "of Surry", sold the land on the Blackwater which he had bought from Thomas Harrison. The deed was witnessed by George Hamilton, and by Cornelius Cargill (2nd husband of (Lucy) Anderson, and therefore presumably now in possession of Thomas Anderson's land on the Blackwater):
June 14, 1721 Thomas House of Surry to John Hardyman of Pr. Geo. Co. for L 10, 50 acres in Pr. Geo. Co. in Martins Brandon Parish, bounded by Blackwater Swamp, "said 50 acres" [words apparently omitted] "bearing date 20th April 1682 containing 292 acres, conveyed by said Mecham to the said Thomas Harrison and Elinor his wife as by conveyance dated 30th July 1686 will appear". Wit: Mathew (MS) Smart, Jr. George Hamilton, Cornelius Cargill.June 13, 1721 Hannah, wife of Thomas House relinq. dower rt
By Dec 1734 Thomas House had died, in what was now Brunswick County:
5 Dec 1734, upon petition of Hannah Howse, Admr. of estate of Thomas Howse, decd, granted her.
Thomas House. Inventory. Made persuant to order of Court held first Thursday in April 1735, by John Brown, John Daviss, Adam Tapley. Total valuation L.55.7.8; returned 5 June 1735 by Lawrence House, exor.
Lawrence House was apparently the son of Thomas House and the husband of Sarah (Pace) House, mentioned as a daughter in the will of Richard Pace of Surry/Brunswick and later of Bertie Co NC.In 1767 the will of James Stewart (son of Charles Stewart and Sarah (Pace) Stewart) left 25 shillings to James, Isham, John and Lawrence House, the sons of Laurence House, deceased. (Will proved 24 Aug 1767 Brunswick Co)
This James Stewart was Richard Pace's grandson, and presumably the sons of the deceased Laurence House were his cousins.Lawrence House died in Brunswick Co by 1757, and Ingram Blanks was appointed guardian to his sons, as shown by entries in the Brunswick Guardian Accounts.
