Regulators & Paces of NC 1770
Two of the signatories of the Regulator Advertisements of 1768 were William Walker and Nathaniel Powell, both Baptist preachers who lived in Halifax Co.,N.C. Walkers daughter, Ceciley married William Pace. Nathaniel Powell owned land near BeaverDam Swamp where Richard and John Pace owned land. Both Walker and Powell died around the time of the Battle of Alamance.
During that time 30 Regulators from Edgecombe Co. marched on the jail in Halifax to try to free other Regulators held there.
Has anyone found evidence that these Paces were membersof the Regulators?
