Erasmus Holtzapple son of Hans Leonard and Anna Barbara (Katterman) Holtzapple (many spellings) immigrated to Philasdelphia on Sept 11, 1731 on ship Britannia. He was born Sept 21, 1710 at Eschelbach, Baden Germany and christened Sept 27, 1710 at Eschelbach Lutheran Church. He was married by Rev J. C. Stover Feb 14, 1738 to Christina Rusher daughter of Jacob and Anna Maria Rusher.
He warranted 100 Acres of land Apr 3, 1767 in West Manchester Twp, York County.he is recoreded as having 11 children between Jan 23 1739 and June 30 1762. The 7th was Elizabeth who married Henry Shock. Erasmus is in the 1779 Manchester Twp tax records as Holtzapfl with 120A and in 1783 he has 150A 2 horses and 3 horned cattle and 4 Sheep.
I spoke to the man that compiled this infomation today and he was confident that it was correct. Also York County will J1 has Henry Shock as married to Elizabeth daughter of Erasmus Holtzapple. If you want the names of all 11 children and spouses for 9 of them send me an ancestry message or email to with your snail mail address and I'll send them to you.
