Hi! I'm looking forward to hearing from you. The name Springettsbury intrigued me, so I started looking for information about it. What an interesting name! Do you know how a town came to have that name?

I did a Google search on Springettsbury "york county home", and I think I may have come across some information that might help. Try doing a similar Google search with the words, Springettsbury "york county hospital and home". I found several interesting links, including chapters of a book that mentioned that the York County Hospital and Home started out as an almshouse.

I haven't searched very much, especially because I only do research when I need a break from work. I hope this helps. History can be very interesting!
