From Russell's obit6/19/94: He was a retired professor at the former York Junior College, taught in the Red Lion Area School District and formerly owned the American Farm and Home Store in Red LIon. He was a founder of the Red Lion Mobile Food Program, a founder and former board member of the Red Lion Area Senior Center and Multi-purpose Building, a former board member of the York county Area Agency on Aging and a 50 year member of the Garfield Masonic Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Dubois, Clearfield County. He was a former Superintendent and Sunday School teacher at St. John's United Church of Christ in Red Lion. He leaves a son, Russell E Yoas II in Red Lion and a daughter Carolyn R. Axe in Red Lion. He is buried at the Red Lion Cemetery.
He was in Red Lion from around 1936 until he died. One year in the Red Lion Directory he was listed as a salesman.
