George Carl was a millwright b.23 June 1763 d. 2 May 1807. He married Catherine Diller perhaps the daughter or sister of Casper Diller of Middleton Twp Cumberland Co. George Carl was the son of John Michael Carl(Karl) b. 18 May 1741 died 22 Feb 1811 and Susanna Bollinger b. ca 1740 to Christian Bollinger b.1693 in Germany who married in Germany Susanna Schler or Bechler dau. of Ulrich of Caanton Bern. Christian was in Cocalico Twp Lancaster Twp by 1750. John Micharl Carl is the son of John Michael Carl b.2/12/1712 and Maria Regina Shafter. He settled near the current Hanover area of York Co 1737-38. John Michael Carl b.1712 is the son of Johann Martin Carl and Eva Margaretha Burchart.

Adam Carl born Dec 16,1800 in Hanover baptised 14 Jan 1802 at St Mathew's Lutheran Church, Hanover, PA.Various Orphan Court records name Adams siblings George 12 in 1808, Daniel age 8, Catherine 3 and Christina 11 months as well as Susanna 10 and Elizabeth 14, born 26 Apr, 1794.
Elizabeth married Daniel Diehl by 11/7/1809. George's widow Catherine married Peter Diehl in 1808 as second wife. George Carl is buried in St Matthew's cemetery. Adams wife Anna maria Michael was born 8 Jan 1802. they married May 1825. She was the daughter of John Michael b. 1765-1771 and Catherine Beltz(probable father Philip. John Michael was the son of Johann Wendel Michael(Michel in old days) b. 3 Sept 1738 in Hetterhausen, Pfalz who died 1811 in York who married Margaret Elizabeth Hedler 24 Oct 1758 in Wallhalben.
