Shuster (Orphans) Ligonier

I'm looking for information on my biological grandfather. I have very little information to go on.

- Steve Shuster (my biological grandfather)
- Parents BELIEVED to be Evan and Francis (Kish) Shuster.
- KNOWN siblings - George (deceased, Ohio), Katherine (Living) Ohio
- ASSUMED sibling - Mary - Stories are that she was a nun and is deceased, killed in a fire.

The boys, Steve and George, were living with the Kopriver (Emmillian and Catherine) in the 1920 census. We HAVE verified this information with a living Kopriver.

We cannot, however, find the girls listed on any census reports. This leads us to believe they were in a home/orphanage/school somewhere, more than likely in Ohio/Pennsylvania.

The story is that Evan and Francis were killed in a car accident. We are not POSITIVE of this information, it's a story passed down from my grandmother.

My grandmother, Margaret Toth was married to Steve Shuster approximately 5 - 6 months before his death in May, 1935. I have his death certificate listing them as living in Akron, Summit County Ohio when he was killed in an automotible accident. My grandmother was pregnant with my mother at the time. My mother was born Oct. 1935.

George Shuster passed away several years ago. Katherine is still alive in Ohio.

I'm looking for information on Evan and Francis and Mary, and of information as to where the girls grew up/why they were separated from the boys. Katherine is elderly and doesn't remember much.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Myrtle McCune Bruce
