Brown, Monongahela

I'm looking for a distant relative with the unfortunate name of John Brown. He was born in Northern Ireland about 1827. His parents were John Brown and Sarah Adams. The 1880 census shows what is probably him and his mother in a tobacco shop in Monongahela. He probably died there. I would love to find an obituary for him but I don't know exactly wnen he died. It would be between 1880 and 1894

Family history says he was in the military in both England and the US. There is a GAR burial for a John Brown in the cemetery with no dates. I would like to find a military record.

John had a sister named Mary Jane McCullough who was in Monongahela until 1888. He had a younger sister named Martha married to William McClay and lived in Monongahela.

John's father, Peter McCullough died 18 March 1888. Martha McClay died 23 Dec.1917. I have no obituaries for either of them. I HAVE ALL THE CENSUS RECORDS FOR THE people in Monongahela.

I know this is grasping at straws but if anyone has any ideas where to look I would be grateful.
