Rachel Peden b. abt. 1808, d. 1867.

My G Grandmother is Rachel Peden b. abt. 1808 to Alexander Peden b. 1762 and Abigail Walton b. abt. 1771 at Pike Run Twp. Washington Co. PA.

Rachel Peden, after her parents died, went to Tyler Co. WV evdently to visit the farm of her Uncle Obediah Peden, b. 1752, d. 1822. By the time she arrived her Uncle had died and willed his 5-6 thousand acres to his sons, James, Jesse, Joseph and Samuel. His will was witnessed by 3 men, one of them was Andrew Brown.

Rachel Peden met and married John Brown, b. June 24, 1801, (born in WA Co. VA)on July 9th, 1827 at Sistersville, Tyler Co. WV. Their 1st child, Alexander Peden Brown was born there in 1828. John and Rachel moved to Ohio for a few years then settled in Eugene, Eugene Twp.Vermillion Co. IN. They were blessed with 11 children, all of them reaching maturity except Esther. Rachel died there in 1867 according to John's obituary.
