Dolores, thank you for taking the time to send me the information you did. I really appreciate it. I have one other question that I have not been able to find out in over 8 years. When my gggrandm, Susannah aka Susan Davis Howard, died 9/5/1899, she was sent from Warren Co. to Crawford Co. for burial. I cannot for the life of me find out why or who she was living with in Warren Co. The census is gone so that is of no help. The only idea I have is that she had a son Fred & Rena Howard who lived in Southwest Co. Warren PA in 1900. Would there be a city directory, tax record, anything that would show if she was living with him at the time of her death in 1899? I know she was in Crawford Co in 1880 census. There has to be some record of where she was living or with whom in 1899, 98, 97 or something. I don't know if anything was reported in the Warren paper as I have not been able to find her actual death. If you can solve this one, I owe you a huge chocolate bar!!! She's the mystery of the 1890 period.
Thanks again, Sophie
