Thank you for the quick answer.

My mother had an uncle who died there. I had wondered about him because Mom said that he had typhoid fever and was taken to the hospital where they discovered that he also had an infected impacted wisdom tooth.
But, when I learned that he had been a patient there for 9 years, it made me wonder if there was more to the story.

In those days, I guess people didn't talk about such things. Since I never heard much else about him, I thought maybe he had some type disability which is treatable nowadays, but was hushed up back then.
