The J. Thompson Baker that you describe was my great grandfather's first cousin, son of Jacob Baker (1813-1833) and Catherine Pontius. Jacob (1813) was the son of Jacob (1770-1827) and Catherine Rockey, who was the son of Wendel Baker and Angelina von Hottenstein. Have all ancestry to beginning of church history including women's lines. Have actual letters written by J. Thompson Baker to my gt-gdfather. Copies of some of the letters are in my Rentchler book on file in SLC, etc. Let me know if this is your line and yoo need more info. Will gladly share.
