I have been searching for the family of Mary Lytle. The dates above (11 Jun 1820 - 16 Feb 1899) are based on her tombstone (at Mountainview Cemetery in Mill Creek) census, and family information
I had been searching the Mifflin County boards, initially, because I had been told that she was born, raised and died in Mill Creek. Recently, I found a document of my grandmother's (Grace Fultz Stell) that said Mary was "born in Union County." It also said that her
Emma (b/d unk) married a “Tate”
Florence (b/d unk) married a “Ritter”
Mae (b/d unk) married a " ?Sueral?'
Lizzie (b/d unk) married a " Pearson"
The problem is that Grace's info follows no specific order - ie: are these really her siblings??
I have found Mary, with Thomas, in the 1850 and 1870 censuses for Mifflin County, but why is it so hard to find someone who never left that area???
At first, I thought she was descended from a group whose name changed each generation:
Lichtel to Leightel to Lightle to Lytle... (they are part of my family tree on the other side.)
>>>but<<< that family tells me "their" Mary "Polly" Lytle married a JACOB Stell/Stahl.
...Okay...so, the only Jacob Stell I've found is in the 1790 census, and there is limited info with it...
Does anyone have a "Lichtel/Leightel/Lightle/Lytle" in their tree from Union County???
Thanks in advance for looking,
