I'm looking for information on the following line, hopefully information that can help me reach back through Civil & Revolutionary War records:
Philip Crouse, b ~1787 Pennsylvania (?); married Sarah b~1805; had son Lewis Crouse/Krouse, married Catherine; Lewis had son Allen; Allen Krouse had son Amon Jerome Krouse; Amon had son John Allen Krouse.
The spelling changes frequently in census records and reflects the constant notation 'unable to read or write,' so spelling variations are to be expected. This family has been in the Union County (presently Snyder County) area of Pennsylvania. I have NO information on any cousins from this branch, their origination in this area, or information other than what's contained in the few census images I've been able to find.
Additionally, there was a Revolutionary War leader in the North-central PA area by the last name Crouse, but I have no other information on him (name, birthdates, ancestors/descendants).
If anyone can help me move backward past this roadblock I'd appreciate it!
