Glenda, This is great that you lived there. Since you are familiar withteh area, maybe you could answer my ?. I made several calls to ? near Costello. cant recall where twp? They said all the records were lost in a flood 1900? Anyway, my grandmother(Cora Dixon/ Dixson./Dickson was a memeber of the Costello ME church in 1897 with her brother Charles, Frank., Helen Nellie Dixon/Dickson and father George. Her father George Dixon was a stationary engineer for the RR in that area. I suspect they lived near the station or that church. Do you know if there were relatively close to 1 another; RR station and ME Church?
Also they must have left there soon after 1897 as they were in steuben co, NY 1900 census. George Dixon was listed as wd. so his wife Mary Dixon must have died while living in that area. I am trying to pin point where thay might have llived to find a cemetery she may have been burried in. The death records for PA need a twp and date; I have neither. Thank you so much for your reply. Dotty
