I am hoping somone can help me sort out the two men named David Johnson/Johnston that I have here (at least I think I have two of them): what can anyone tell me about the David born 03 Nov 1756 in Readington Twp., Hunterdon, NJ and who supposedly died (I know not where) 17 Jan 1836? Was he or was he not the son of Ralph Johnson/Johnston; did he or did he not marry a Mary "Polly" Fitzgerald? Until last night, I had all but the place of birth for a David, supposed son of Ralph, but no documentation for any of the vitals. Last night on HeritageQuest I found pension file for a David Johnson/Johnston born in Readington Twp., Hunterdon, NJ on 03 Nov 1756; (no parents)- he had a brother John for whom he took the place of in the Rev. War; when he made application for pension 20 Nov 1832 he was residing in Smithfield Twp., Pike, PA, having lived in NY state for a while; no indication of having married....If so, who is the David who had a wife Mary "Polly" Fitzgerald? Who are these men??
