I am seeking a history of Dingman's Ferry (the ferry operation, not the town). So far, I have established that Andrew Dingman purchased land by 1735 and established a ferry across the Delaware. I would like to find out more about the ferry operation and this crossing place.
Regarding Milford, I have read that the river was crossed there in early 1700s. HOW? Was there a ferry at Milford or at certain times of the year, was the river low enough to cross by foot or horseback?
Time period of my interest: before 1750.
Many thanks for any help,
