Well, I recently found out that JOSEPH ANTON BENJAMIN ERWOLTER left his wife and children and went to the States around 1870.

He turns up in Missisippi - and in Missouri in 1876, where I have found his naturalization record. His widow, Johannah, is found in St.Louis City 1881-1884, so I guess he must have died somewhere around that time.

In Missouri, he is referred to as ERWALTER, so I suspected that REUBEN J. ERWALTER could be a son.. since the ERWOLTER / ERWALTER name world wide is one family. But right now, I feel as if I am barking up the wrong tree.

Best regards,
