Beth, thanks for joining in with yhis new info. I t seems Shoop must have been trusted friend, employer, or maybe church member? He was listed as a merchant,1870, lumberdealer,1880,with lg. fam living downtown danville. Apparently they spent their late yrs. in Riverside. It seems that it was easy for thm to jump back and forth across the river. the 1857 map showed john had prop. in both towns. Could Cindy research info on John also? I found a listing for Franklin marr a sadie e. lunger in7/1865 in Star of the North paper. this john 2yr old living with lunger must be Franklin's son. john lunger fam had a 13y.o. sarah listed in 1860, so this seems to matchup. She must have died soon after birth. Franklin disappears after this. Were the lungers same church members? Is sadie buried there? Are there D.C.s around this time? It may help to go back to previ. generation on John and Elizabeth Pete
