stopped by this day to the libr., old court house and st jos. rc church.went thru newspaper for 1883, did not come up with john's obit. court records only go back to 1893. and church records 1889 at st jos and Hurberts cemeterydid not show a devine. so eliz may have died before this. however, i was told about the old Irish cemet. located buried in the woods behind the water tanks on old baldy hill. went looking and found it . called the historic Sidler hill cemet. Apparently donated for irish and german burials, probably workingclass and poor immigr. there is a listing on site of abt 2 doz identifiable graves only althou. there maybe many others. dates seem to fall in the 1850-1875 range, and may have been used before St jos./st hubert started their cemet in 1889. there was 1 marker in the book showing a JD MD footstone inscript. but could not find it. It is quite remote area. need to make contact with Montour Gen. soc. told that they may have older records. the churches records went to the Harrisburg Diosc. archivs. for digitial preservation. Found the old house on Ash ,107, and Center. found it on an 1857 mapin Courth. Riverside showed a group of adjoined lots no house, ave G betwn 10&11 sts. same map. more work to do on this. will see what Soc can provide. Pete
