Hi Jean, I know this is a couple of years after you posted your message, but i might have some information on Meckes. My maiden name is Mackes, and i could not get any where trying to find Mackes. Then I found a Reuben Mackes in St. Matthews Cemetery. My grandfathers name was Reuben Mackes but he's buried in Catasaqua, PA. He was born in Kunkletown, Monroe co.,Pa. where the cemetery is. I started looking up the Meckes name and I found a Reuben Meckes that goes back to a Conrad Meckes That came to this country in the 1740's. This Rueben Meckes had the same birth date and death date as Reuben Mackes in St. Matthews Cemetery. Some of the Meckes must have changed their name to Mackes. So those Mackes' in the cemetery are probally related to you. I hope I was of some help. Yours Truly, Linda
