Pertinent info from pages 96 & 97:
William McKinney, Esq, was born in 1795 in Canoe Valley and came to Yeagertown in Mifflin at the age of 6 years old. His father went to Virginia on business, and on his way returning was drowned at Fort Cumberland, he and his horse. He married a daughter of Samuel McNitt in 1822 who died in 1845, leaving 11 descendants, 7 of whom still survived at the time of the book's writing. He married again in 1846 (no name given) and had 4 more children, 3 of whom still survived at the time of the book's writing. He lived 28 years in Reedsville, 13 years in Milroy and "is now 84 years of age, the 17th of September, 1879".
