Howards of Mifflin Co.

Greetings,

My ggg grandfather, John W. Howard, is said to have been born in Greenwood Twp. Cumberland Co. in 1778. Greenwood Twp, , Cumberland Co. became part of Mifflin Co. in 1789.

The 1790 Mifflin Co. Census lists several Howards as follows:

Page 104 - Howard, David - Wh. males 16yrs & up 1, wh males up to 16yrs -2, females - 4

Page 104 - Howard, Edward - Wh. males 16yrs & up 1, wh malesup to 16yrs - 0, females - 1

Page 105 - Howard, Thomas - Wh. males 16yrs & up 1, wh malesup to 16yrs - 3, females - 1

Page 113 - Howard, Thomas - Wh. males 16yrs & up 1, wh malesup to 16yrs - 0, females - 1

David Howard and the first listed Thomas Howard seem to have had sons under the age of 16. I am trying to find out if one of those sons happened to be our 12 yr old John W. Howard. John moved to Jackson Twp. Lycoming Co. after 1800 and married Mary Keagle in 1819.

I would appreciate any information about the children and spouses of any of the Howards listed above.

Sincerely, Robert Howard
