I am searching for the connection between William Stine (born about 1879 in the McVeytown area) and the large Stine family based in Oliver township whose patriarch was Jacob Stine.
William Stine married Nancy Guss and had 3 sons. Nancy A. Guss was the daughter of Samuel and Francis Guss. William died about 1922 at 42 in a tree-cutting accident. His three sons (Walter, Cloyd, Russell) remained in the area for some years, working in the brickyards and in wood-cutting and land-clearing. Two sons contracted breathing problems from the brick dust and wound up in Arizona, where both died without issue.Walter, the oldest, married Ruth Kauffman and had 6 children (5 girls, 1 boy).
William and Nancy Stine are buried at St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery in Licking Creek, Mifflintown. I am researching this line for a Stine friend, but am having trouble getting info on William. I am seeing hints on the internet that there were big Stine reunions in McVeytown in the 1930s and 1940s, and that there might be a book written somewhere about the line. Can anybody help?
