Brodhead in Pottsville, 1920s

I am trying to find out what happened to Lewis D. Brodhead's wife Mildred Elizabeth (maiden name Hancock, b. 1892 in Maryland). The couple lived in Pottsville in 1922 at 109 S. Centre St. Prior to that they lived in Easton, PA.

Lewis is listed by himself in the 1926 Pottsville directory: Salesman, 370 S. Centre, r 400 W Mahantongo. And by 1931, he is listed as living back in Elizabeth NJ with his mother.

So I am curious as to what happened to Mildred--death or divorce? Any suggestions, please let me know. Unfortunately, I am not able to travel to Pottsville for any on-location research at this time.
