Searching for descendants of Raymond Burns and William A Burns
I am trying to locate additional information and, if possible, descendants of the following two brothers:
Raymond Burns, born about Aug/Sept 1904, possibly Buffalo, NY, and William A. Burns, born 13 May 1906, Buffalo NY (his birth was recorded by affidavit on 20 Jan 1934). I suspect that William A Burns passed on 8 Apr 1993 at Buffalo, NY.
Their parents are William Albert Burns, born Dec 1877, Chester, Pennsylvania, but lived about the first 25 years of his life with his family in the New York City area, and Henrietta Germain, born abt. 1883, Buffalo, NY.William Albert Burns's parents are Stewart/Stuart Burns, a blacksmith, and Elizabeth Mawhinney, possibly the daughter of George Wilson Mawhinney and Jane Newton. Both Stewart/Start Burns and Elizabeth Mawhinney are reported to have come to the US from northern Ireland. I could not find any record of their marriage or William Albert Burn's birth in Dec 1877. In 1876 Stuart Burns naturalized at New York, New York.In 1879 at Manhattan, NYC, a second child, Newton G Burns, was born and subsequently died in 1887. Three other siblings were born to Stewart/Stuart Burns and Elizabeth Mawhinneyin the greater New York City area from 1882 through 1891.
Our William A Burns, age 33, is verified by address with wife Eleanor, age 28 and daughter Joan, age 8, in the 1940 US census at Buffalo.
Not sure if our Raymond Burns is the same Raymond Burns, age 35, in Cheektowaga, Erie County, with wife Dorothy Brenner, age 28, and Raymond Jr., age 4, in the 1940 census. His Brenner in laws are also living with him.
Both Raymond Burns and William A Burns are first cousins of my late father in law and I have substantial research to share about their ancestors with with any descendants of these men.
