Hello, am searching for info. on the family of Charles and Bridget McVay or McVey of Como Lake (near Honesdale, county seat of Wayne Co., near Scranton, PA. I think they married in Ireland and then settled in PA in about 1848. Charles may have been born in Biley, Ireland and lived from roughly 1810-1872. Bridget was born around 1824-26 in Ireland and died after the 1880 census was taken but before the 1900 census was taken. They had nine children that I know of: John, Charles, Martin, James, four daughters whose names I can't remember at this point, and Thomas, who was only five years old when his father died. Thomas is the only one I know anything about. He was born in May 1867, married Ellen Driscoll in 1892 in Potter Co., PA, had ten children, then moved to NF, NY about 1917. He was a millwright at Carborundum in NF, retired about 1935, Ellen died in 1940 in NF and he died in 1950 in Buffalo, NY. They are buried in Gate of Heaven Cemetery near NF. What I am trying to find out is Bridget's maiden name. It has been extremely difficult for me to find it out. Any help greatly appreciated.
