William Barnard b 1804 PA and two of his brothers Joshua and Jacob md three Smith sisters all on the same date of 1828 in PA They went to Ohio. William and Eliza Ann Smith had three dau's namely Hannah, Sarah and Rebecca J. Hannah md Franklin Seitzel and when she died in 1860 he md her sister Sarah who was living with them in the 1850 census. Rebecca md Aaron B Walton. I believe there was also a son born to William and Eliza Barnard named Emory born 1837. There is no documented proof that Eliza died in 1840 as some have said. William md a 2nd wife namely Hannah McComb and had a family. There may have been a divorce of Eliza and William??
In the 1870 census for Ohio Columbiana County in the household of Emory and Amanda Barnard is Eliza Barnard age 65 born Pennsylvania listed as MOTHER IN HOUSE.( unusual for relationship in 1870 census).

In 1860 census taken 2nd JUNE in household of Franklin Leitzel is Eliza Barnard servant born PA. Franklin was a tailor and I believe she was helping out as Hannah her daughter died sometime in the year and there was a one year old baby listed. In the 1860 taken 13 JULY census for Columbiana Co, Ohio in family #1089 in the family of Aaron & Rebecca Walton is Eliza Barnard age 54 b in Pa. Next door family #1090 is Emery and Amanda Barnard. In these census she is in households of Emory, Hannah, Sarah and Rebecca. Any help or comments appreciated. Thank you.
