Thomas Walsh, b. abt. 1911, lived in the Philadelphia area
I found an interesting article while doing my own research. I am not related to this family, but hope to pass it on to someone who is.
It can be found here:

It is the 29 Oct 1946 issue of the Chester Times, in Philadelphia.
Here is a transcription of the article:
EVICTED, OFFERS THREE CHILDREN
A 35-year-old Philadelphia bus driver and his wife, evicted from a home sold to a war veteran, today offered three of their nine children to "anyone who will take care of them" after parishoners of their church offered shelter to the eldest six.
If no one comes to their assistance, Thomas Walsh, and his wife, 31, of Suburban Chelthenham Township (Montgomery County) said the three youngest children will be taken to the Montgomery County Home of Detention at Jeffersonville.
The eldest child is twelve.
