The Social Security Death Index wasn't started until the early 1960's and includes relatively very few people who died before then. Also not everyone got a Social Security number years ago even after Social Security was started in 1938.
Your best bet is to find the obituaries of her siblings and see if she is listed and where she was living at the time (assuming she outlived any of them).
