John Busby Pennsylvania 1682
I found this among my mother's genealogy papers and thought it might be of help to someone. It is not our line.
"Pennsylvania Gen. Magazine,Vol XXIII,Number 2, 1963, pg 120.
"John Busby (Busby) weaver who arrived in Pennsylvania in Aug, 1682, on the Amity, may have been in Goodson's list. Busby md in 1690 the deceased Christopher Taylor's daughter, Mary; two years later he bought on ground rent part of a bank lot from Griffith Jones. He was rated on an estate in Philadelphia assessed at(my note: mark for pounds I belief--an f or L with a slash through it) 40 in 1693.)
"Found in Myers, Quaker Arrivals 19, notes he came from Milton, parish of Shipton. For his arrival see Pennypacker, Pennsylvania Colonial Cases, 110, cited in Note 6 above. Deed Book E-2-5, 222:25 11m 1691/2 Griffith Jones to John Busby."
I have typed it exactly as I found it. I have no other information on the above. I'm "cleaning house" in my office, so will not be keeping a copy. I hope this helps someone.
