Dear David,

A number of San Francisco newspapers are found online at Chronicling America http://www.loc.gov/chroniclingamerica

There I found some articles about the bricklayer's union mentioning Joseph and also an article in the San Francisco Call, January 9, 1909, page 17.

MARRIAGE LICENSES.

The following marriage licenses were issued in San Francisco Friday, January 8, 1909:

......

MAZZA-HARRIS-Joseph Mazza, 30, Pasadena and Ellen Harris, 25, Oakland.
......
