Dear Tammy,

Have you obtained their Pennsylvania death certificates? These have spaces for the names of the parents of the deceased. Of course, the forms may not be filled out completely or accurately depending upon the informant.

The state's Department of Health has a newer searchable online index for Pennsylvania deaths and information on how to obtain these certificates at http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/public_records/20686

I found one for Bernard who died September 24, 1919 and possibly Hannah H in Warren County September 17, 1929.

At http://smethport.newspaperarchive.com I found a 1920 newspaper mention of Bernard's estate. The search engine didn't pick up anything about his death but perhaps you'd want to browse the appropriate issues.

Good luck,
Karen
