John Acheson and Sarah Ramsay Acheson

I am searching for information on the parents of John Acheson born either 1774 or 1744 - have sourced information that they were in Lancaster, PA and I want to know if this is the John Acheson that migrated from UK/Ireland/Scotland or if the immigrants were his parents.

The line I am following now is:
Sherie Acheson Lehman,
Daughter of Wendell Cecil Acheson and Shirley Jane Richardson Acheson.
Wendell Cecil Acheson is the son of Leslie Dryden Acheson and Christina Peterson Acheson of Valley Junction, IA.
Leslie Dryden Acheson is the son of Robert Ramsay Acheson and Florida Catherine Childress Acheson also of IA.
Robert Ramsay Acheson is the son of Robert Acheson and Eleanor McDonald Acheson of Muskingum, OH or IA.
Robert Acheson, I believe is the son of John Acheson and Sarah Ramsay Acheson who moved from Lancaster, PA to Muskingum, Ohio or I am missing a generation from my initial research begun today. I have John Acheson's birthdate as either 1774 or 1744 - have found it two ways so either there are two of them or someone's records were incorrect.

Now I am searching for the parents of John Acheson - 1744 or 1774 and I would like to know if I am missing a generation and there were possibly two John Achesons back to back from 1744 - 1835 or if John and Sarah are the parents that moved from Ireland or Scotland.
