Hi all
I have just logged into this forum and am delighted to see all the enthusiastic interest in this topic.
My own interest in the McCracken ancestry extends to my great-grandmother Mary (Catherine) McCracken possibly the youngest daughter of John McCracken, born 1814. Joihn was the youngest child of Capt John McCracken and Ann Joy brother to Henry Joy McCracken.
I have established that John lived in townland of Mobuy near Cookstown in County Tyrone. There are possible descendants of John there now. I am attempting to paste the family tree that I have on McCracken family from Capt John down. Does'nt work but I can EMail it if required.
I have established that a Jane McCracken Daughter of John McCracken married a William McCurdy in the USA as below;

child 6: Jane MCCRACKEN (AFN: 3B8L-K1 )

gender: Female
birth: 1810
Fairfield Twp., Westmorland, Pennsylvania
Died 1846 inTroy, Perry, Indiana
BuriedTroy, Perry, Indiana

spouse: William MCCURDY

They had 7 children all in the USA.

Anyway this is a start I will be very interested in any follow-up offered. By the way there were approx 100 McCrackens in County Tyrone in 1901 and 600 in County Derry.
Regards
