Hi Zlatica, Thank you for the ss index information on Joseph, he is indeed my Uncles Grandfather. He did not have the ss# before. After just speaking to my uncle he has found out that the family always said the imigrant ancestors were from a town in Lithuania called Suvalskija (which means Flatlands)He feels certain about this information and that the original spelling began with "Stas" and ended with "wicze"That Joseph was born on board the ship coming to the U.S. & That John's wifes name was Cassie. I am now trying to find the ship manifest with this information and the original spelling of the name.I have tried Ellis Island site and had no success. Will need to go to the library to check Ancestry. I will also need to check with my Uncle as to the church affiliation. Thank you for your help and advice any further ideas will be gratefully accepted.
