As a follow up to my own post, as to avoid sharing inaccurate information, I have since discovered further information and am also seeking any detail on these individual families:
Norman Chester Whitaker, not Norman Cornelius.
Lena Beringer, Norman's mother, was the daughter of John and Magdalene Beringer of Baldwin Township. John was also a coal miner, himself from France, his wife German. Lena is a short form of Madeline (French) or Magdalene, the German spelling. One can only guess who won the spelling /naming right for their daughter Lena. Lena died in Hays, PA. in approximately 1901 of unknown cause and unknown burial.
Any information in Lena Beringer Whitaker would be appreciated.
Cornelius and Lena had more than four children.
Seven more in fact!
Adeline, married a Mr. Fox
Charles
John, married Anna Arnaud from Germany
Harry
Edward
Joseph
Abraham
Cornelius Jr., married Beulah L.
William
Louisa
Norman Chester, married Delia Byrne, from Conway, Arkansas.
Adeline Whitaker and Mr. Fox had a son, Bill Fox, who had two daughters: Vera Fox and Myrtle Fox. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio. Any information on these folks would be appreciated.
John Whitaker and Anna Arnaud moved to Warren, Ohio, Trumbull County. There they had four children:
Margaret Whitaker
Frank J. Whitaker
Harry E. Whitaker
Catherine C. Whitaker
Any information on these folks would be appreciated.
Cornelius Jr. married Beulah and they had three sons:
Lester L. Whitaker
William W. Whitaker
John Whitaker
All three sons are now deceased. William W. (Bill) having died in 2003. Any information of anyone who might have any photos or knowledge of Lester's marriageor anyone in this branch would also be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Stephen Whitaker
