THOMAS HEWITT -ALLEGHENY - 1900 CENSUS
Posted by: EDWARD LUNT (ID *****7037) Date: May 27, 2008 at 11:14:00
  of 48757

hi all, THOMAS HEWITT on the 1900 federal census living at
TARENTUM WARD 1, ALLEGHENY age 41, a widower with 3 children, ages 8 15 and 16 yrs old.
his immigration year is give in as 1890, but I think it was 1880, and I think it could be my g/uncle THOMAS HEWITT born 1858 LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, father and mother JOSHUA and ELLEN HEWITT.
I have been told by living relatives that he became a county or local sheriff with the nick name "BOSS HEWITT" and he died after being hit by lightening during a bad
electrical storm while baling hay for the cattle.

is there anyone who can tell me if he got married in the ALLEGHENY area and a date and to whom? and any information about the birth of the children, also whether anyone
has read or knows about a sheriff being killed that way.

the living relative tells me she remembers her grandmother
getting a letter from someone telling her of the death of THOMAS. The letter has long since gone. if only it hadnt
that would have been great.
any help about information would be real good. TED.
