My wife's 3rd GGF was John FLEMING, b. c. 1761, and married to Catharine --, who died c. 1891. They lived in Westmoreland County, PA. Probably in War of 1812.

8 John Flemings (1780 Tax List in Chester, Cumb, Lancaster, York Co), Tyrone Tp, Fayette Co, PA (1790 Census), Westmoreland Co (1800 Census 12211-01011), 2 John Flemings (1810 Census in S. Huntingdon Tp, Westmoreland Co, & Dunbar Tp, Fayette Co, PA), 2 John Flemings (1820 Census in Dunbar Tp & Tyrone Tp, Fayette Co, PA), 4 John Flemings (1830 Census in Tyrone Tp, German Tp, Connells Tp, & Union Tp, Fayette Co, PA), John FLEMING b c 1761, Brownsville, Fayette Co, PA, living with son, John (1840 Census of Mil Service Pensions).

Another set of her 3rd GGPs were also FLEMINGs:
Elizabeth SIMPSON married Mathew FLEMING. Their daughter was Rececca FLEMING, b. 1828 in Redstone, Fayette Co, PA, and d. 1911 married John FLEMING, 1818-1897, (my wife's 2nd GGP) son of John above, and are buried in West Newton Cemetery, Westmoreland Co, PA.

Mathew FLEMING listed in Washington Tp, Fayette Co, PA in 1820 & 1830 Censuses and the 1870 Census, Jefferson Tp, Fayette Co, PA, lists Mathew FLEMING b c 1792.
