Am trying to trace William H. Morten in Allegheny Co. I have lost him in the census records after 1880. He had a son William Albert who lived a short distance away. his wife was named Sarah and her family was from Germany (she was born in PA). I know that Wm. A. worked as treasurer for Carnegie Tech but I was unable to read the type of work Wm. H. did on the census. The family had lived in Oakmont, PA. My father says that Wm. H. may have lived in Belle View . Also, I have heard that there was some type of relationship by marriage to Stephen Collins Foster. My grandfather, Alan W. Morten owned Valley Heights Nursery in Oakmont (acrossed from the country club). Any information would be appreciated!
