My husband's grandfather had a family bible of the Kloss family coming from Germany. I had it translated. The original spelling of the name was GLOHS, but was changed to KLOSS when the came across. Some of the first names listed were: Jacob, b Aug 13, 1841, d Apr 27, 1902. He married Elisabeth MULLER b Mar 29, 1844, d Jan 25, 1903. They are both buried near the Kellyville mines in Westville, IL. Other names, Philipp, Katrina, Kristian, Maria, August, Friedrich, Luise Charlotte, Margaretha Friedericka, Wilhelm, Katrina, Katharina, Johann, Karl Peter. The name in Germany was translated as: Altenkirchen, but you may want to check the spelling. I have dates for most of these names. You may want to check around Wheeling, WV if any of these names are familiar to you.
