Hello Mike, Yes I know most of the Houser family went to Kentucky, however my branch on the tree stayed in Maryland until my great grandfather went to Indiana in about 1870. He was 11 years old when the battle of Antietam was raging. He polished the soldier's boots when the fighting stopped at dark each night. As late as the mid 1970's Foster Houser still lived on the old farm when I visited there with my parents. He was quite old then and I am sure has passed away. The obits are of are my g-grrandpa's 2 brother's family. My great grandparents were Daniel Houser and Mary Bennett, Daniel is buried in Indiana and his wife in Duffield (?)VA. or W VA. Not sure where Duffields is. I am from the line of Abraham and Nancy Rohrer, to Samuel Houser and Sallie Piper, then I hit a brick wall. They had a son Jacob but I can't find out anything about him, the other 3 children I know about. There was a John Rohrer who went to Indiana do you know about him? I have tombstone photos if you are interested. You have got to be a cousin, thanks for replying. I have the Houser-Rohrer-Dillman book and it tells me nothing new about my Samuel Houser line that I didn't already know. A Cousin, Tamara Notify Administrator about this message?
