MICHAEL GEORGE HARTNER 1851 - 1880 DISAPPEARED
Posted by: Mike Hartner (ID *****8928) Date: March 08, 2004 at 23:40:36

All:

Michael George Hartner was a son of John Paul Hartner. They immigrated with the whole family, and landed in NYC 04 Dec 1851.

Brothers Nicholas nad John show up in the West Pitt listings for 1860 and 1870, and both brothers were naturalized on age in 1860, in Pittsburgh. No sign of Michael in the 1860 census??!!

Michael volunteered in Pittsburgh in 1864, and fought with the 204th Pa 5th HEavy Artillery. He was mustered out in 1865, and according to pension files was married Christmas 1865 in Robinson Twp. 3 children between 1865 and 1870, and he still doesn't register in the 1870 census??!

The first I see of him is the 1880 census in 38th ward Pittsburgh.

I have tried searching Ancestry.com, and the Genealogy.com 1860 and 1870 census records, and I am coming up blank.

Can anyone help me find Michael George in the 1860 and 1870 census years. ??! PLEASE
