James R. McClintock - b. 1829 d.1879
I am looking for the parents, siblings, etc. of this James R. McClintock who is written up in the lastest book on the Hunley submarine built by Mr. Hunley and James R. Mc and used in the Civil War.
There is a notation that James ran away from his PA home at abt. 9 or 11 to become a cabin boy on a boat.Later became a river boat captain and later ended up in New Orleans, La working with Mr. Hunley engineering and building at least 3 subs one of which was the famous Hunley just recovered.
James Mc died in an explosion in Boston Harbor in 1879.
